Did you know that Next Generation Science Standards for Today's Students and Tomorrow's Workforce are being developed? "Through a collaborative, state-led process managed by Achieve, new K-12 science standards are being developed that will be rich in content and practice, arranged in a coherent manner across disciplines and grades to provdie all students an internationally benchmarked science education. The Framework provides a sound, evidence-based foundation for standards by drawing on current scientific research - including research on the ways students learn science effectively - and identifies the science all K-12 students should know." The NGSS will be based on the Framework for K-12 Science Education developed by the National Research Council. The revision is due out the second week of January, 2013. Infinitec's 4 member states are all participating in this endeavor.
