Seclusion and Restraint, or as some States refer to it, Emergency Safety Intervention (ESI) is the focus of this presentation. As educators, it is our responsibility to familiarize ourselves with our State, School, and District policies regarding Seclusion and Restraint or (ESI). The U.S. Department of Education has described 15 Principles for State, District, School Staff, and Parents to consider when adopting policies and procedures regarding seclusion and restraint.
