Social Security and Identity Protection Act (Illinois)

Presented by Infinitec

The Illinois Identity Protection Act, went into effect on June 1, 2010. Training on this act is required for all employees who have access to individuals’ SSNs in the course of their duties to ensure confidentiality from the time of collection through the destruction of the information. This presentation focuses on the Act's 3 aspects: restricting the use of SSNs at public institutions and agencies, requiring security and protection of allowed SSN use, and allowing the public to know exactly how SSNs are used.
