Intellikeys blue keyboardThere is good news regarding the Intellikeys keyboards.  The driver source code has been released by Ablenet and a group called ATMakers is working to make it available and functional for use again.  Go to this website for more info and to follow progress. In the meantime, download the activities you like because the Classroom Suite Activity Exchange will be taken down December 31.

The predictability of these books works great for involving students who use switches and speech paths love them for students with apraxia.

What a great UDL tool! One grid is free for educators. Here's an example of a school librarian using it for a book club.

Kindle Books Now Accessible to Students Who Are Blind

How to Use Amazon's Alexa on iOS Devices

icon for AmazonWhat? Use Alexa instead of Siri? Yes, you can now query Alexa on your iPhone or iPad. Simply download the Amazon app (not Amazon Alexa app--you will need that app if you want to ask about weather or traffic.) Use the microphone at the top to interact with Alexa. Read this article for more specifics.  I did find it hasn't been fully enabled in iOS yet. I could only use it for shopping, but I expect that to change.
