Executive Function Challenges: When 504 is not enough but the Student Does not Qualify for an IEP ***Sarah Ward, M.S., CCC/SLP, Co-Director of Cognitive Connections, LLP, Co-Author of the 360 Thinking Executive Function Program*** Do you have a student who is on a 504 plan and struggles with organization, time management, task completion and self-regulation but was not found eligible for an IEP? What do you do when the 504 does not provide enough support but there is not specially designed instruction for executive function challenges that would qualify a student for special education services? We are observing many schools are now offering “lunch bunch executive function study skills” groups to students who need to learn strategies but do not qualify for SPED. In this webinar, we will explore how to provide practical executive function strategies in group and or resource room settings. Taking into account the diversity of students and learning styles, we will provide you with teaching methods to provide lessons that are interactive and individualized and gives students the opportunity to not only develop their executive function skills but also to generalize these skills in various environments away from their school desk. Do you feel like you spend the majority of resource room/learning center time “putting out fires” and there does not seem to be time to teach the executive skills? This webinar will address how to use assignments and classwork as the tools to build executive function skills! It is a win-win! ** Please note the recording of this webinar will be available for only 3 weeks after the date of the live webinar. **
