Presented By: Beth Waite-Lafever, M.A.-CCC/SLP-ATP, PRC Training and Implementation Specialist *** My Super Power is Scribbling: Alternative Pencils and Video Feedback Create Real Writer: How do you develop writing skills of students with complex communication needs who use AAC? What can you do to truly engage your students with severe challenges in authentic writing activities? Start with low-tech alternative pencils and/or speech-generating devices; then, add personally-relevant, interesting photos/videos, combined with student generated text. Make connections with student writing to the self-selected writing prompt and create a short video for self-directed learning on your phone or tablet. You have just created a new Super Power: Scribbling with purpose. This session will leave you empowered to teach writing to your students who use AAC by combining the power of the scribble with video feedback.
