Presented by: Tabitha Jones-Wohleber*** A MASTER PAL, or “skilled partner” of an individual who uses AAC engages in authentic and meaningful interactions. In this first of 3 webinars, participants will be provided an overview of modeling and explore topics related to belief systems and nuances of communication, learning, and sense-of-self that influence how modeling AAC to teach AAC impacts learning AAC. Cultivating belief systems that empower autonomous communication as reflected in our words, actions and the opportunities we provide individuals with complex needs will be emphasized. Model as a MASTER PAL is a framework and compilation of resources that focus on supporting communication partners of those who use AAC by highlighting behaviors and belief systems that shape quality communicative exchanges and emphasize the importance of being an engaged and respectful communication partner. A link to all Model as a MASTER PAL resources will be provided.
