Presented By: Matt Baud, SLP/Assistive Technology Coordinator for Niles Township District for Special Education *** Literacy in AACtion for AAC: Direct Literacy Instruction for ALL: Literacy instruction can be challenging for students with complex communication needs. Interventions require a number of options to provide enough opportunities for learning through a balance of approaches based around literacy and language strategies. In this 3-part webinar series, we will discuss three different interventions for emergent level students that can be easily added to your everyday schedule. For the second webinar, we will review a literacy curriculum that provides active participation opportunities for students that use AAC to learn basic reading skills including sound blending, decoding and more through a systematic direct instruction format. Extension activities and examples of how the Accessible Literacy Learning (ALL) program has been utilized within a number of different classrooms will be discussed.
