****PRESENTED BY ELIZABETH HAMBLET, LDT-C, M.S. Ed., M.A.T.This presentation is the third in a four-part series on preparing students with disabilities for successful transition to college. As Part I discussed, students are responsible for requesting disability accommodations at college if they wish to receive them. In this workshop, we will review the typical procedures students have to follow when in order to register for disability services. We will also go into depth in discussing the disability documentation they will need in order to register, which is crucial, as students who don’t have the documentation they need will be required to pay for it if they want access to accommodations. This workshop is important for child study team members who are case managers for students with disabilities because it will allow them to make sure students know what they need to request accommodations at college and what support they will need for these requests.
