PRESENTED BY LUIS PERZ***The belief that “inclusion inspires innovation” is reflected in the many groundbreaking accessibility features Apple has introduced over the years. These features embody the universal design philosophy that technology should empower all users to do their best work. Apple’s commitment to accessibility extends to its latest wearable device, the Apple Watch. Along with a built-in screen reader (VoiceOver) and screen magnification (Zoom), Apple Watch includes haptic feedback to aid with navigation (Taptic Engine and Maps) as well as a number of other options for personalizing the appearance and behavior of the device. In this session, we will explore not only the built-in accessibility features of Apple Watch, but also a number of apps that can aid with communication and expression on the go. We will also discuss the challenges of using Apple Watch as an accessibility support and explore alternative devices for those situations where Apple Watch may not be the best fit. A number of tips and tricks for getting the most from a new Apple Watch will also be shared throughout the session.
